Ditali for Salterio

Marc Armitano Domingo now offers Ditali, a type of ring with attached plectrums, that was originally used for playing salterio in the 18th century. Each Ditali is handcrafted from yellow brass and goose quill, and creates a wide range of sonorities from a bright and direct sound, to delicate and sweet sonorities. These are based off of the research of Franziska Fleischanderl, Nelly Van Ree Bernard, and Paul Gifford. The Ditali I currently copy are based off of some examples in the private museum of Francesco Spada, and were found with a salterio and a stack of salterio music.

I can make two different models of Ditali, and am currently working on making gold ditali, as well as a Spanish model. To order, please email me at info@armitanodomingo.com. They can be ordered as a set of four (two for the thumbs, two for the index finger) or set of six (two for the thumbs, two for the index finger).
