Historical performance practice on the Salterio

Alongside his art practice, Marc Armitano Domingo is a researcher and performer on the bass Viola da gamba, Pardessus de Viole, Lirone, And Salterio. From a young age, Marc Armitano Domingo had an interest in historical performance. Starting with the viola da gamba at 13, and later on salterio, Marc has dedicated much of his life to understanding and interpreting 17th and 18th century music on period instruments. Marc has focused on late 17th and 18th century virtuosic viola da gamba repertoire, and on the salterio has focused on hispanic music, using plectrum pizzicato technique as his main method.

Marc leads Passiflora Harmonica alongside Dušan Balarin on Baroque Guitar and Theorbo and Jimmy Drancsak on Baroque violin. The ensemble plays 17th, 18th, and early 19th century chamber music with an emphasis on Iberian, Italian and Latin American repertoire.
