Austro Hungarian Galleon Pendant
This pendant is also a a revival piece, which was modeled after enameled ship jewelry that has been around since the 16th century onwards. The deep cobalt color of the ship’s body paired with graduated pink, white and blue sails overlaid with stripes is a wonderful display of the enameler’s skills. The base metal is silver, with gilt silver and a seed pearl chains. This exquisite enameled ship was crafted in the Austro Hungarian empire, which was a hub for creating enameled pieces as well as imitation gemstones.
The chain is repaired at the base and a few very small chips in the enamel.
