Micromosaic Winged Scarab brooch
This winged scarab brooch is incredibly rare due to its medium being micromosaic. Beetles and other insects often make their way into victorian micormosaic jewelry, but this one has its wings outstretched as a nod to ancient Egyptian representations of scarabs. The body of the scarab is made in a glowing red gradient and the wings are made with beautiful shades of forest, sea foam green, and white stripes.
Period: 1900-1930
Dimensions: 1 7/8” x 3/4”
