Shibayama Insect Locket
This incredible locket features a row of shibayama insects crawling over a strip of silver. Shibayama is a Japanese craft where precious materials such as mother of pearl, amber, abalone, ivory, and precious metals are carved and inlaid to create relief. In this locket, the legs and antenae are engraved into the silver, much like the way i make my bugs. The locket is Victorian and made of brass and sterling silver.
