St. George Slaying the Dragon
This dynamic lavalier features St. George mounted an his white horse on the verge of slaying the dragon. This subject was commonly used in enamel jewelry during the late 19th century. During this period, it was popular to make enamel jewelry in the manner of renaissance jewelry. This pendant, along with a fair amount of other enamel jewelry was made in the Austro-Hungarian empire, where they were also known for creating imitation stones out of glass. The enamel is in good antique condition and the dragon is missing it’s back wing.
